5 Things I’m Currently Loving That You Should Try!

Hey girl! There are a few products and things that I have been OBSESSED with lately and I wanted to share them with you! From beauty products to books, I have tried out a few new things this month that have quickly become new favourites!Instead of doing a monthly favourites for March, I thought I’d do something a little different πŸ™‚

Here are 5 things I’m currently loving that you should try!

Thank you to Sarah Mendivel, the writer of the book Sam’s Theory for sponsoring this blog post. All opinions are my own.

#1 Sam’s Theory by Sarah Mendivel

When Sarah reached out to me asking if I would be interested to read her book, I was so intriguiged by the powerful and important message the book tells. The book is based on a young girl, Sam, and how she overcomes and heals from her abusive past. I am already quite a few chapters in and the book has such an important message that I believe all teens should hear. Definitely, make sure to check out the book for sale here! (Also, check out the author’s website here)

Here are a few questions I asked the the author, Sarah Mendivel:

What inspired you to write Sam’s Theory?

“I work with kids and teens that visit the hospital because they’re having a hard time with life and the feelings that come with tricky experiences. We work together to problem solve these tricky areas and it’s my job to make sure they feel heard and cared for. I make sure The kids I work with feel strong and ready for the outside world when they leave The room. All of the kids and teens I work with are very special to me and it broke my heart thinking there were more out there I haven’t had a chance to help yet, so I wrote a book to reach those kids.”

What was your mission behind writing Sam’s Theory?

“Depression, anxiety, trauma, and isolation are issues most teens and children’s deal with. These experiences are heavy and can be really difficult to carry on your own. I wrote Sam’s Theory as a way to let kids know that they aren’t alone anymore and that strategies exist to conquer the ghosts that haunt them. This book creates a safe space to explore their feelings, as well as allies to heal beside. It was written to empower readers that might be feeling weak or tired in their journeys, or left out of their life somehow. It is my goal to get this book into every young person’s life that has been through a hard time and needs to hear that hope still exists for them. Every single teen is special and worthy of a future. Eventually I hope to travel to talk with groups of teens in person about the incredible human beings they are capable of becoming. You are all magic and deserve the courage to become what you are fully capable of becoming!”

I believe the topic of abuse is very important, especially for teens, to be educated and aware on, and so I really wanted to share this amazing book with all of you! πŸ™‚

#2 Orange & Currant Candle

What can I say, I’m a sucker for a good candle! I recieved this candle in my March XO Peachy Box and not only does it look amazing sitting on my nighttable, but it smells A-MA-ZING! This is probably my favourite candle of all time, and that’s saying a lot! Should the candle of the month be a thing? πŸ˜‰

#3 Arbonne Eyebrow Gel

I don’t have many words to describe this eyebrow gel either than I’m simply obsessed with it. If I could only use two makeup products for the rest of my life, it would probably be my mascara and my trusty eyebrow gel. I have naturally really bold and bushy eyebrows, so this gel is perfect for keeping everything in place! Check out the eyebrow gel here.

#4 Amazon Camera Tripod

I finally, finally, took the jump to buy my first tripod! I bought it off of Amazon and I’m so glad I did! I love photography and taking photos so this was definitely a worthwhile purchase. I expected the tripod to go up to my eye-level when standing, however, it’s not as tall as I thought it would be. It only goes up to a bit above my waist, but it still does the job! Check out the tripods you can shop below!

#5 Roolee Boutique Bandana

At first, I totally stayed away from the whole bandana trend, because honestly, I had NO idea how to style them. However, as soon as I saw this red bandana styled with a dress on Rooleee.com, I just had to give the whole bandana trend a try! Once I watched countless YouTube videos, I finally figured out how to tie one properly πŸ˜‚ I can’t wait to start adding this adorable accesory into more of my outfits! Check out a bunch of cute bandanas below that you can shop!

What are your favourite things this month? Have you heard or used any of the things on my list? I would love it if you share you favourite book right of the moment in the comments so we can share suggestions!

I have a candle, from like, Christmas 2 years ago?? We never light candles in the house, so it’s kind of just making one of my drawers smell nice… πŸ˜‚ But I loved the name of yours! Blood Orange and Currant. Sounds awesome!
I’ve noticed bandanas around and personally have no clue how to wear one either. (Maybe you should make a ‘how to tie a bandana’ post? 😜) They look pretty cool! I hate scarfs, actually (it feels like they choke me) but am kind of interested in the bandana trend. (That’s saying something because I am NOT a very fashion-ey person in general)

Ooooh I’ll have to add that book to my reading list! I recently read The Fault in our Stars, which made me bawl even though it was sooo good. I’ve been reading books by Rainbow Rowell lately too, and I’m in love. I read Fangirl, Carry On, and I’m hoping to get Eleanor and Park ASAP! I loved this post and all the photos πŸ˜€
