Answering All Of YOUR Blogging Questions!

Hey girl! Quite a while back I published a blog post asking you guys to ask me any of your blogging-related questions so I could help any of you smaller bloggers out there looking for some advice! I got quite a few comments on that post and I had started working on it and then got busy and never finished it… haha whoops 😬 Better a little late then never, right? If you missed the original post where I asked for your questions, you can check it out here! I think I am definitely going to make a part two to this because there are sooo many questions so it’s not too late to ask new questions in the comments section of that post!

I also did 2 Q&A posts about anything and everything so if you haven’t read those yet, check them out! I talked about travelling, other bloggers, braces, fashion tips, tips for growing out your hair and more!

Answering Your Q&A Questions  – Part I

Answering Your Q&A Questions – Part II

Let’s get into it!

What do you use to create graphics on your blog?

I use Canva! I seriously swear by Canva because first of all it’s free, but it’s also super user-friendly and so so so easy to use!

How did you start collaborating with brands on your blog (such as XOPeachyBox)?

I honestly just went for it and started to email brands and reach out to small companies. Reaching out to companies can definitely seem scary at first, but make sure you are professional in your email, you are clear with what you are asking, include your name and your information, and that you also link your platform links/blog link.

If you guys don’t know by now… I launched an online course a few months ago that I am super proud of! The course is called An Influencer’s Guide To Working With Brands! I take you through step-by-step of everything and anything you need to know about collaborating with brands. I guide you the entire way from start to finish and by the end of the course, you will be working with your dream brands! You also gain me as your personal mentor! Here is a quick snippet of what it covers! There are also tutorial videos in the course too so you are really getting a bang for your buck! You can check out the website I made for it which has the full details of the course here!

How did you grow your Instagram?

This is a very, very loaded question. There are so many ways you can grow your Instagram and there are so many different and multiple things I tried to help grow my Instagram. I could do an entire post on this, so let me know if you want to see it! The biggest thing is to put quality over quantity and post your best work! Don’t just post to post! Also try to be yourself and find your unique style to help you stand out!

How do you start a giveaway?

The first part to a giveaway is the prize!  You need to find something valuable that your audience will enjoy and something that is fitting to your blog. You also need to think of an action in return that will benefit you that your audience has to complete to enter the giveaway. Once you have that, you’re golden! Just set up the giveaway with a host like Rafflecopter or host the giveaway on social media!

Do you need certain requirements to collaborate with large brands?

There are no set requirements or lucky number before you can collaborate with brands. The most important thing to brands is engagement. You could have a hundred-thousand page-views a month on your blog, but if you don’t get any comments or if nobody clicks on your links in your posts, it is not worth as much to brands! Engagement is key!

Does self-hosting require you to pay?

Yes, self-hosting requires you to pay. In order to have your own domain name, like taiyamaddison.com you would have to not only pay for the domain name to own it, you also have to pay for a company to keep your site up and running on the web.

How do you get email subscribers? And how do you grow your list?

Offering a freebie or something valuable to anyone who subscribes is a great way to attract subscribers to your list! Remember that whatever you offer should be original and not copied from anyone else! Also remembering not to spam peoples inbox’s is important and keep the emails at a maximum of only once or twice a week. I use MailChimp for my email list. How do you start with ads?

The easiest way to sign up for ads is google ad-sense! All you need to sign up is a google account and then from there you can connect your blog and get started!

Is social media helpful for gaining site views?

Social media can absolutely be helpful to attract viewers to your site! For my blog currently, 67% of my views are from social media. Social media sites like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and especially Pinterest can significantly help you grow your audience, so never write off social media when it comes to your time and energy! Follow me on Instagram here!

Where do you get inspiration for blog posts?

I get inspiration from a variety of places. Sometimes I am on Pinterest looking at photos and an idea comes to me, sometimes I am reading other blogs and I love what they are doing and I take inspiration from their content (but never copy, put your own twist on it!), and sometimes I brainstorm and come up with blog posts based on collaborations!

What is the best way to find companies who want to collaborate with me?

If you are just starting to collaborate with brands, look for smaller companies to work with to start off because they can be easier to reach. Keep in mind you might not want to contact very small businesses because they often don’t have a budget for collabs. I go into detail in a whole chapter of my online course of how to find the perfect brands to work with that fit your platform and your audience!

Again, you can check out the course here!

That’s all I am going to answer in this post, but there are soooo many more questions left to answer so I think I am definitely going to do a part II if you guys want it! Comment below if you want a part II and I will definitely do it! Also go comment more questions on the original post here!

Also if there are any answers to questions you want me to elaborate on and write a full in-depth post about, comment below and I will try to do that for you!
