Hey Guys! As you may or may not know, I was in Arizona for the past week! The main purpose of the trip was to visit my grandparents, but to also have a fun family holiday. I had an amazing time and I feel so blessed 🙂 We were able to do tons of activities such as horseback riding, go-cart racing, getting henna and gel nails, shopping, going to markets, visiting a ghost town, going to Tortilla Flats, going to the movie theater, and hiking! Before the trip, I had bought my first big purchase, a camera! I got the Sony A5000 because I wanted a portable camera for traveling with good video and photos. A love for photography + a new camera = tons of photos! So here they are, enjoy!
Now, let’s get on to the pics!
Ps. These first pics are from Goldfield’s Ghost Town.
When you see pink wall you have to take pictures in front of it, am I right?
This is a view of the first little bit of the Ghost Town, there were lots more buildings and shops as well 🙂 Ps. If you go there you HAVE to get some fudge, it’s pretty much mandatory 😉
Tortilla Flats – In this restaurant, all the walls were filled with one dollar bills. People who visited previously wrote their names on the bills and stuck them to the wall! This vibe in this place is seriously so cool, this is definitely a MUST GO TO place if you end up in Phoenix!
We also went for a horseback ride through the desert and it was amazing! The horses were beautiful and it was suuuuper cool to see all the Arizona scenery and cacti up close. There were a couple spots on the trail where is was pretty steep with lots of rolling rocks, and I’ll admit I was totally nervous at first, but I got more and more used to it over the two-hour ride.
This is Phoenix’s famous Superstition Mountain!
We went to Octane to race go carts and I have never felt so competitive in my whole life, LOL.Watch out everyone, I’m taking 1st place next time, Ha!
This picture is from the Mesa Market. There are four huge halls (A,B,C, & D) that are filled with different booths and stands. When I was there I bought a super cool Arizona University Sweater and a mini camera tripod. If you are visiting Phoenix and looking for some souvenirs, I definitely recommend going there.
Next up, movie time! We saw the film Lion, and it was sooo good but sooo tear-jerking, LOL. I’ve never cried so much at a movie before, so that’s saying somethin’ because I am not the crying-movie-type, but believe me, it hits allllll the sad spots. Overall, really good movie though, and you should go see it 😉
This is one of the many, many, pools at my grandparent’s resort, and tbh, I think I’m in love 😉 Seriously, the first night we got there it was a little colder so the hot water from the pool was steaming, but not just that, the lights in the pool were BLUE! Of course, the camera didn’t catch the shot as amazing as it was in real life, but needless to say, it looked super cool! And no, that is not a person in the middle of the pool, I swear ahahaha. It must be a vent or something on the bottom or side of the pool, because I seriously don’t remember someone being in the pool when I took this picOn the hike, I pretty much took like a million pictures, so it was very hard to narrow it down to 5 lol. We went on a 3 1/2 hour hike (13.2km) up the desert mountains in the hot sun and MAN, let me tell you, THAT was a workout! Ps. The path we hiked on was through the Massacre Grounds, just for future reference ;), LOL! Sidenote- If you have never gone hot-tubbing at night, you must do so ASAP!
On the hike, I pretty much took like a million pictures, which is totally typical for me, so let’s be honest, it was very hard for me to narrow it down to 5, LOL. I LOVE henna and I get it every opportunity I have. I do actually have some henna at home, but when I do it, it certainly does not look like this. Let’s just say I am not the most artistic person ever 😉 The girl who did it for me is sooo talented and she did a great job. I also got gel nails done with my grandma at the same mall! 😀 Also, I planned on not doing any shopping while I was in the States (besides a few things obviously) and I was in the mall getting nails and henna done when I came across a store called Tilly’s. So anyway, I blew a couple bills there but honestly, the clothes I got were SOOO worth it! Yes, teenage girl problems, I know haha.
Tbh, I was definitely sad coming home, but I feel so blessed to be able to go on a trip with my loved ones 🙂 I have tons more photos from the trip, but I didn’t want to bore you guys too much 😉 If you liked these travel posts, let me know! I usually do posts that are helpful and help you guys, my fellow teenage girls, but I really enjoyed making this, and I thought it would be a fun, small peek into my personal life.
