DIY Fall Room Decor + How To Make Your Room Cozy For Fall

Hey, guys! Welcome to another blog post! Today I am showing you some fall room decor DIYs and also how to make your room cozy for Fall. I love decorating my room for each season and decorating my room in general so I hope you love this post as much as I do!

1. DIY Fall Frame

This piece of decor is so cute and it cost me nothing! The page is super easy to switch out for winter and took me less than five minutes! Below I will tell you the materials that I used and where I got mine from of course you can get yours from wherever but I recommend checking your local dollar store first. They often have good cheap DIY supplies.

-Frame (Walmart)

How To:

This one is pretty simple but I printed off a picture of leaves from Google. Then I typed the words FALL into a word document (you can use whatever saying or word you would like) printed that out and used that as my stencil. You can also just freehand this if you would like. I traced my stencil on the printed leaves image and cut it out. I taped the letters onto a regular piece of paper, put it in a frame, and there you go!

This one is a little more difficult but it takes more time than anything. This also cost me nothing so that’s a plus 🙂

Cardboard (I got mine from my family’s recycling)
Branches (I went into the bush beside my house and got some
Branch cutters
Hot glue gun + glue
White paint + paintbrush (optional)

How To:

I took a piece of cardboard from the recycling and cut out a T (for Taiya) but obviously you can do whatever letter you please 🙂 Then I took my branches and cut them so they would fit. I started at the widest part of the letter and made my way down. After that all you have glue the branches down with a glue gun. Also, this is optional, but I had some white paint out from another project, and so I painted the side of the cardboard to make it look a bit more classy.

This was super fun to make and I love how it is white so it’s very classy looking! This also did not cost me anything!!!

-Foam pumpkin (or real, I had my old one from last year)
-White paint (or whatever color you would like)
-Sparkly gray paint (that’s what I used but again you can use whatever you like)
-Foam brush

How To:

I feel like this one is pretty self-explanatory but basically, I painted this foam pumpkin white because it was an old faded orange colour. This did take a few coats, but it was totally worth it. I painted the stem a glittery silver colour. To top it off I took a more creme/light brown colour in the grooves to make it look more rustic and life like, versus the super opaque white look.I love how this turned out and I know I will be taking this out Fall after Fall.

This one isn’t really a DIY, but I wanted to include it anyway. I have this chalkboard from Michael’s (I got it at 50% off btw) and I love drawing on it. I also have these chalkboard markers from Amazon that draw really nicely. I drew some arrows, wrote fall on it, and hung it over my bed. I think it looks super cool and very festive!

This one also isn’t really a DIY , but I wanted to include it in this post because it is super cute! I have this tray from (you guessed it) Michaels. I found this mirror at the dollar store for uber cheap and it fit perfectly in the tray. Now all you have to do is put some fallish things in the tray and you are good to go. You could put candles, fairy lights, pinecones, books, cute mugs or really anything in it. I choose to put this glass pumpkin jar thingy with fairy lights in it, a candle and a couple fake leaves.

Here are a few easy ways to decorate your room for fall and make it extra cozy.

Garlands: I got this fall garland at Micheal’s for $8 on sale! I hung it over my bed with some fairy lights and it looks super cute and definitely pulls my whole room together.

Candles: I have a couple fall candles in my room at the moment. I have Pumpkin Pecan Waffles and Apple Orchard from Bath and Body Works as well as a super cheap candle from Micheal’s I had left over from last year. That one is called Cinnamon Roll. If you are looking for cheap alternatives for BBW candles I recommend Michaels. I saw some fall ones there the other day on sale for $3.99!
Pillows: Throw pillows are probably the easiest way to change up the feel up your room. My mom just recently got me this arrow pillow case from Amazon. I believe it was pretty cheap, so if you are looking for some cool throw pillow covers, check Amazon!

Fake Leaves: This may sound weird but last year I got a pack of glittery fall leaves in gorgeous colour from the Dollar Store. They last forever (obviously) and you can do so many things with them. Last fall I hung them on fishing line from a branch over my bed. This year, since I had a garland, I decided to clip them in my wire mesh polaroid board thing to add an extra fall vibe.

Lighting: As I mentioned already, fairy lights are a super cute way to make your room feel cozy. You can do so many things with them. For example, you can clip polaroids on them, put them in mason jars, weave them into garlands and such. I decided to put them in my fall garland from Michaels. The fairy lights too were from Micheals (again with a coupon, seriously guys if you haven’t downloaded the Micheals app you should do so)

Throw Blanket: I forgot to snap a pic of mine but throw pillows are obviously very warm and cozy. Just throw one on to the end of your bed and BOOM, instant coziness 🙂 (if that’s a thing)
