Hey Everyone! The new year is here! With the new year, comes new years resolutions! I am showing you guys what I did last year, so you can do it this year 🙂 It is a GraJournal, so basically, every day you write one thing you are grateful for in your journal. It’s a great New Year’s resolution idea if you don’t have one already, or even if you do! Then, at the end of the year, you have 365 things you are grateful for! I hope you guys enjoy this post 🙂
Gratitude Journals are great because you can read through them and look back when you are having hard or bad days to remind you of everything you have to be grateful for. I did this for the year of 2016, and it is something I wanted to share with you guys so you could do it too!
I got my book from Coles Book Store. It is marble with a rose gold print on the front that says notebook. The Coles, Chapters, and Indigo stores have amazing cute notebooks that are so so pretty (they also double as a great room decor pieces, LOL) In the journal, you just write down the date on one side of the page (ex. Jan. 1, Jan. 2, Jan. 3 etc.) and then on the other side of the page across from the date you write what you are grateful for that day and that is it! I know it may seem daunting to write 365 things you are grateful for, but take it day by day (literally) If you miss a few days definitely don’t worry! Even if you miss a week it is totally okay. You just go back and write things you are grateful for the days that you missed.
I think this journal is so important and a great way to realize and recognize all the things we have to be grateful for. Some of which you might take for granted. What you write in your journal is completely up to you. It can be big things like family, friends, food, water, shelter etc. or even the little things in life that make you happy, or a mix of both! Some examples of small things are: sweatpants, coffee, weekends, flowers, sunsets, chocolate etc. Big or small, there are many, many things to be grateful for; Concrete or abstract 🙂
If you are stuck, here are some specific and vague ideas to expand on, and to get you thinking:
Nature, roof over your head, trips, clothes, photography, education, opportunities, books, your country, day to day house items, sports, hobbies, luxury items, clean water, employment, freedoms, and people in your life.
As I said, I did this as one of my resolutions last year, so I have a journal full of 365 things I am grateful for. I do think it is really cool and comforting to look back and read through whenever you are feeling down. I highly suggest you guys try this and I hope you have a great new year! Let me know if you would like to see a 2017 planner post! Make this year a great one 😉
