Instax Mini 8 Review

Hey Guys! This has been highly requested, so today I decided to do a review of the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8. Iโ€™ve wanted a Polaroid camera for the longest time but I was a little hesitant to spend the money on myself. Then for my birthday, my friend got me one and I was completely amazed!!! (shoutout to her if she is reading this <3) I have been using it every since she gave it to me so here are my thoughts!

How To:

Once you read the instructions manual, the camera is easy enough to use. All the different features are definitely way less daunting than a DSLR camera. There are a couple different settings depending on the lighting of your shot. There is inside/house, cloudy, sunny, really sunny, and Hi-Key. Once you get used to what environments need what settings, it gets easier. When taking pictures you also need to keep in mind to bring the camera a little over to the right and up from your original shot. This is because what you look through the eyepiece will be different than what the lens is capturing. I know this may sound confusing, but you get better with practice. When I first got the camera I searched and found a few different tutorials and blog posts just so I could get myself familiar with the camera. Doing that really helped so I recommend doing the same. Below are some links to tutorials ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t have an Instax Camera? Don’t worry! You can get one from Amazon if you are interested ๐Ÿ™‚

Review:

The camera isnโ€™t too overly big, which I like. I love how the camera gives you instant photos (which also double as super cute decor pieces btw). I love displaying the photos around my room with fairy lights! However, there are some cons to the instant camera, unfortunately. One is that you obviously donโ€™t know exactly what the picture will look like before you take the shot (unlike mobile phones). So if you arenโ€™t okay with a couple mistake shots then this probably isnโ€™t the camera for you. As well, The film is on the expensive side. If you order from Amazon the film works out be around a dollar a piece depending on where you buy your film. That was one of the major reasons why I was a little hesitant to buy the camera. Personally, because the film is expensive I am super careful on what I am taking pictures of. I don’t just go around snapping photos left and right simply because of the cost. This past summer I took quite a few photos with my friend who was visiting but I took lots because they were all of the important things I wanted to remember. Overall, there are a few cons to the camera, but I think that’s what makes the camera super unique and cool. For me personally, the pros of this camera weigh out the cons and I am super happy with my camera!

If you guys are interested in buying an Instax Mini 8 they are available at many different places and I highly recommend checking out Amazon. hope you guys found this post helpful! Talk to you later ๐Ÿ˜€
